Free healthy living tips to combat aging

Here are our FREE healthy living tips on how to look your best and hold back the aging process.

If you like what you see in our healthy living tips, then sign up for more FREE hints and tips by subscribing to our monthly newsletter, commonly known as an E-Zine (in computer speak!) at the bottom of the page.

You may not be surprised to know that a healthy diet and lifestyle can improve your chances of longevity, but did you also know that living healthily can slow down the aging process?

We promised you a healthy living tip on what to do with "runny honey"...but first some other fun tips:

TIP 1:

WATER

2 litres a day keeps you young Yes we know...

"Drink 2 litres of water a day to keep healthy".

How many times have I heard THAT we hear you say.

BUT did you know that 2 litres of STILL water per day increases your metabolism, meaning you could burn an extra 150 calories. Mmm, that could mean less fat around the middle or around the face which could make you look more youthful...

TIP 2:

TURMERIC

Great for IBS sufferers Yes that key ingredient of asian dishes like curry has been proved to reduce the symptoms of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome - suffered by a quarter of the world's population to some degree) by 60%.

Don't like curry? Then try substituting saffron (expensive!) for turmeric(cheap!!) in recipes.

TIP 3:

RADISHES

For healthy bones Yes get some ravishing radishes into your diet. They are packed full of potassium, calcium and magnesium which give you strong, healthy bones.

They also sooth sore throats and clear sinuses.

TIP 4:

BREATHE!!

A long deep breath can ease tension

Did you know that simply breathing properly can eliminate tension, pumping oxygen into your bloodstream and thereby providing a natural injection of health?

Yoga masters have been practising it for years and know how to breathe properly but you don't need a yoga class to teach you to take a long slow DEEP breath for a minute or so to start your day the healthy way. Try it and see.

It also works brilliantly if you are really stressed. Just stop for a second, close your eyes and breathe deeply. Ahhhh, that's better.

By the way, if your DO like yoga check out our

And the runny honey...?

It's coming I promise in THIS issue...

TIP 5:

SPOTS

Spots

If you break out in spots from time to time, try to reduce the amount of saturated fat, yeast and white sugar in your diet and increase your intake of soya and tofu for their hormone balancing benefits.

Okay we know that means eat less dairy products and bread plus drink far less sugar filled coffee per day but every little helps.

TIP 6:

RUNNY HONEY

At last here it is:

What to do with runny honey

What to do with runny honey. Our tip toasts your orange peel so DO try this at home!
This is definitely the most popular of our healthy living tips.

  • Buy from your local store a jar of pure natural honey, the runny version. When you have half an hour to spare, get down and get sticky with this natural tip for removing cellulite.
  • If you have an area that concerns you that is readily accessible for you to treat, say thighs or stomach, sit down and watch TV while you draw out the fat!
  • Place about a table spoon of honey on the area concerned and fairly rigorously massage the honey around for a few minutes.
  • Then here comes the trick. Pat the area with the open palms of your hand.

This will give you a ‘pat and pull sensation’ as the honey eventually frees up the fat to the surface.

  • You will, after a fairly exhaustive 25 minutes of watching your favourite ‘soap’, need some, to wash away the honey AND the cellulite!
  • For inaccessible areas, a professional massage with honey will do the trick.

Warning! – depending on the delicate nature of your skin, you may notice slight bruising that will vanish in a couple of days. And our last tip for this month:
