Physiognomy is the Ancient Art of reading the face, its proportions, shape and features contained within.

Chinese face reading
A balanced face has a symmetrical proportion. This type of face is considered to be the most pleasing. Surprisingly, the Chinese think that this is not only aesthetic but also healthy.
In the West, we use the knowledge from the East in studying skin tone, texture and substance. Wrinkles, bagginess, discolouration and sensitive areas can all be attributed to life style and/or health symptoms such as blood pressure or stress and tension.
It is also possible to map major traumas or life changing events through the ‘markings’ on the face.
There is a fun side to Physiognomy and that is reading into facial characteristics to decipher a person's individual traits. It is often used today as a form of fortune telling and matchmaking.
When you read what we have to say about Physiognomy, you may find yourself "laughing on the other side of your face".
Do you have an asymmetrical face or a mountain face?
Perhaps you have a wall or bucket face?
Or maybe even a metal, earth or moon face?
Confused? YES
Amused? WE HOPE SO
So what is it all about?
- Physiognomy involves a study of the facial features that we are born with. Mastering the art of
face reading
means that you can judge a person's character before you even meet them.
Now that's what we call useful.
- Many face shapes can be categorised at a glance but to read the face properly, bone structure and complexion must be studied as well.
- You may not be able to change the physical features you were born with (your nose for example), but the condition of your complexion can tell a thousand secrets about your personality and your emotional state.

The complexion mirrors a person's state of health.
- A rosy skin radiates and shows someone with a positive, affectionate and often romantic attitude.
- A reddish tone in the face often indicates high blood pressure as well as a tendency to be quick tempered and fiery.
- A bland and dark tonal complexion often indicates a broody artistic type, someone who is imaginative, adventurous and also sexually amorous.
Bone structure can also be revealing.
- Someone with an extremely bony face, for example, could be very harsh and intense.
- A full and fleshy face, on the other hand, shows someone with a hedonistic trait, optimistic in outlook and always striving for life's pleasures; someone who is very amusing and out-going.

Did you know that Physiognomy can also be a form of self diagnosis?
If you understand your own facial characteristics, you can understand more about yourself which often leads to improved self esteem and well being.
For example:
Do you hate your nose because it is long and curved?
If we told you that the shape of your curved nose denotes a strong ability to handle resources with creative flair, would that make you feel better?
Do I have a mountain face, I hear you ask?

And if I do what on earth does it mean?

Secret Language of your Face
Physiognomy, also known as the ancient art of Siang Mien, reveals how you think, how you like to work, how you behave in relationships as well as your talents and gifts.
It can be an invaluable tool in assessing a person's strengths and weaknesses and can be put to a wide variety of uses.
Confucius he say:
"A child can do nothing about his face, but an adult is responsible for his own appearance"
What are you doing to yours?
By the way, the secret is out:
Every one of us is two faced!
When studying
Yin and Yang
the right side of the face is Yin (the positive and public side) and the left is Yang (the private side or the REAL you. That's why when taking a photograph, if someone says "oh no, not that side, it's not my good one", you should always take the right side.
